3.1 Integrate and promote existing information<br />
strategies, including 211, 511 and web-based tools to<br />
get specialized transportation information to<br />
consumers.<br />
3.2 Develop information portal tools for wide<br />

COORDINATED HUMAN SERVICES-PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION PLAN<br />
3.1.1 Continue to integrate the multiplicity <strong>of</strong> information resources<br />
available, through SLOCOG’s existing 511 transit project, focusing particularly<br />
on the information needs <strong>of</strong> the target populations and their caseworkers.<br />
3.1.2 Test information applications through regional, systems-level and<br />
agency-level pilot projects to promote the use <strong>of</strong> existing transit for the target<br />
populations.<br />
3.2.1. Create information tools oriented to direct human service agency<br />
staff that help them access specialized transportation services on behalf <strong>of</strong><br />
their consumers.<br />
3.2.2 Improve methods <strong>of</strong> information distribution by working through the<br />
SSTAC 18 and other advisory committees <strong>of</strong> SLOCOG and the transit<br />
operators.<br />
3.2.3 Ensure that the Regional Mobility Manager’s information tools are<br />
maintained and kept current with service changes, establishing standardized<br />
mechanisms for the public operators to advise the Mobility Manager(s) <strong>of</strong><br />
anticipated service changes.<br />
3.2.4 Invite through the Calls for Projects strategies that establish, promote,<br />
enhance and extend transit and specialized transit information portals.<br />
3.3 Promote information opportunities for human<br />
services agency line staff and direct service workers<br />
3.3.1 Develop and promote transit introduction modules to provide periodic<br />
training to agency level staff on transportation options across the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Luis</strong><br />
<strong>Obispo</strong> region, potentially including connections with neighboring counties.<br />
3.3.2 Hold periodic transit workshops, distributed geographically across the<br />
county to bring human services agency personnel current with available<br />
transportation resources and information tools.<br />
