of their pass at no additional cost. Amtrak ticket holders also enjoy the same<br />

privilege on Metrolink trains within the limits of their ticket at no additional<br />

charge.<br />

CONNECTING SERVICES<br />

Each county has a transit plan <strong>to</strong> ensure integration of Metrolink service with other<br />

transit systems and transportation modes. The fare is designed <strong>to</strong> provide a free<br />

transfer either from feeder bus or <strong>to</strong> local transit at the destination station.<br />

Metrolink passengers can connect with Amtrak trains at Anaheim, Burbank-<br />

Bob Hope Airport, Camarillo, Chatsworth, Fuller<strong>to</strong>n, Glendale, Irvine, Moorpark,<br />

Oceanside, Oxnard, San Juan Capistrano, Santa Ana, Simi Valley, and Van Nuys.<br />

Metrolink passengers can connect <strong>to</strong> the Metro Red Line subway and the<br />

Metro Gold Line at LAUS, <strong>to</strong> the Metro Green Line at Norwalk, and <strong>to</strong> the<br />

Metro Blue Line at the 7 th Street/Metro Station at no additional charge. Shuttle<br />

service is provided at the Down<strong>to</strong>wn Burbank and Bob Hope Burbank Airport<br />

stations <strong>to</strong> the Burbank-Bob Hope Airport. LAUS also provides rail connection <strong>to</strong><br />

Amtrak long distance trains such as the Sunset Limited, Southwest Chief,<br />

Coast Starlight, and the San Joaquin route Amtrak trains via a thruway bus.<br />

Union Station also provides connections with various local and city bus and<br />

shuttle services, including service <strong>to</strong> Los Angeles International Airport.<br />

<strong>Plan</strong>ned light rail additions that will provide direct connections with Metrolink<br />

trains include the Metro East Side Line, the Metro Exposition Line, and the<br />

Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension.<br />

Ridership has grown steadily <strong>to</strong><br />

10.2 million in <strong>2005</strong> as routes were<br />

added and service expanded.<br />
