COASTER COMMUTER RAIL (OCEANSIDE–SAN DIEGO)<br />
PRINCIPAL <strong>2005</strong>-<strong>06</strong> TO <strong>2015</strong>-<strong>16</strong> ROUTE OBJECTIVES:<br />
• Increase ridership and improve mobility in the region.<br />
• Implement timed transfers at various stations and transit centers.<br />
• Initiate and continue implementation of the Cus<strong>to</strong>mer Amenities Program.<br />
• Implement incremental service increases, if feasible, including: supplementary midday<br />
service, reverse peak service, evening service, and weekend service.<br />
• Construct Oceanside passing track.<br />
• Construct new mainline track between O’Neil and Flores.<br />
• Replace single-track San Diegui<strong>to</strong> River and Santa Margarita bridges with new twotrack<br />
concrete bridges.<br />
• Replace other timber bridges with new concrete bridges.<br />
• Upgrade sidings and add second main track segments.<br />
• Continue stabilization of Del Mar Bluffs.<br />
• Construct new parking garage at Oceanside Transit Center.<br />
• Extend platforms at Old Town and Poinsettia Stations.<br />
• Build 500-space parking structure at Solana Beach Station for mixed-use<br />
development.<br />

RIVERSIDE, SAN BERNARDINO, AND VENTURA COUNTIES)<br />

• Improve cus<strong>to</strong>mer service and accessibility.<br />
• Improve integration with other transit modes.<br />
• Purchase 43 <strong>to</strong> 66 new rail cars.<br />
• Initiate a study of Sealed Corridor safety improvements on SCRRA-owned lines.<br />
• Complete systemwide rail line rehabilitation/renovation projects.<br />
• Design and construct Eastern Area maintenance facility.<br />
• Perform various projects <strong>to</strong> improve system performance.<br />
