7.8 Hindrances facing the use and availability <strong>of</strong> leTs in the rural<br />

areas rural areas <strong>of</strong> RVP (Kenya).<br />

In the table above, respondents were asked questions relating to leT<br />

hindrances. Using a close-ended questionnaire, appropriate multiple answers<br />

were selected. Evidently, 64 (32.0%) respondents in RVP (Kenya) expressed<br />

problems ranging from cost, to distance (38, 19%) and time (27; 13.5%).<br />

Other pressing problems include computer illiteracy (32; 16.0%), cultural<br />

taboos (23; 11.5%) and poor road networks (16; 8.0%).<br />

Notably, survey results indicate that problems <strong>of</strong> access and exclusion also<br />

abound in RVP (Kenya), as an average <strong>of</strong> 43 (21.5%) respondents face<br />

problems that range from cost, to time and distance.<br />
