10.3.6 Information development, dissemination and
management using leTs (Conceptual Model).
It is necessary to:
a) Conduct a feasibility study/needs assessment survey in order to
determine the availability of physical infrastructure, and the gender
dynamics/demographics of the community - percentage of women, age
groups, occupations and education levels - before project implementation.
b) Create an advanced awareness of the intentions of the project through
available media resources.
c) Work with women's groups and women leaders in order to define
information systems that tackle women's concerns and are designed to
support their daily productive activities.
d) Encourage a two-way information communication process between an
organization and its target beneficiaries by establishing community
development committees that comprise project beneficiaries.
e) Collaborate closely with other stakeholders working in the community,
thereby avoiding the duplication of efforts.
