Section 562Deflection due to the mass of concrete may not exceed 1/500 of the spaneven if the deflection is compensated for by camber strips.Modulus of elasticity (E) for steel = 30 x 10 6 pounds per square inch(c) Other requirements. Limit falsework spans supporting T-beam girderbridges to 14 feet plus 8.5 times the overall depth of T-beam girder.562.05 Manufactured Assemblies. For jacks, brackets, columns, joists andother manufactured devices, do not exceed the manufacturer's recommendationsor 40 percent of the ultimate load carrying capacity of the assembly basedon the manufacturer's tests or additional tests ordered. Limit maximum allowabledead load deflection of joists to 1/500 of their spans.Furnish catalog or equivalent data showing the manufacturer's recommendationsor perform tests, as necessary, to demonstrate the adequacy of any manufactureddevice proposed for use. Do not substitute other manufacturer'scomponents unless the manufacturer's data encompasses such substitutions orfield tests reaffirm the integrity of the system. If a component of the falsework system consists of a steel frame tower exceeding2 or more tiers high, the differential leg loading within the steel tower unitshall not exceed 4 to 1. An exception may be approved if the manufacturer ofthe steel frame certifies, based on manufacturer's tests, that the proposed differentialloadings are not detrimental to the safe load carrying capacity of thesteel frame.562.06 Falsework Foundations. Field verify all ground elevations at proposedfoundation locations before design.Where spread footing type foundations are used, determine the bearing capacityof the soil. The maximum allowable bearing capacity for foundationmaterial, other than rock, is 2 tons per square foot.Do not locate the edge of footings closer than 12 inches from the intersectionof the bench and the top of the slope. Unless the excavation for footings isadequately supported by shoring, do not locate the edge of the footings closerthan 4 feet or the depth of excavation, whichever is greater, from the edge ofthe excavation.482
