Summary
• There were 433 launches in the past 3 months globally that contained leeks as
an ingredient.
• There was one product launched in Australia over the past three months.
• Europe (76%) was the key region for launches.
• Flexible packaging (24%), trays (15%) and tubs (14%) were the most common
format used for products.
• The main categories for launches were meals (29%), sauces & seasonings
(20%) and soups (17%).
• Claims used on products included no additives/preservatives (27%),
microwaveable (26%) and ethical – environmentally friendly packaging (18%).
• The most innovative product launched was Leek and Cheese Swirls from the
