<strong>Lettuce</strong> Product Launches:<br />

Last 3 Months (September – November 2015)<br />

Summary<br />

• Globally, there were 188 products launched, consistent with the previous wave.<br />

• There was only 1 product containing lettuce as an ingredient launched in Australia over the<br />

last 3 months.<br />

• The majority of products were launched in Europe (49%) and North America (19%).<br />

• Trays (32%) and flexible formats (29%) were the main packaging formats used.<br />

• The top categories for launches were meals (59%), fruit and vegetables (23%) and juice<br />

drinks (13%), which was consistent with previous trends.<br />

• The key claims used over the past three months were ease of use (28%), environmentally<br />

friendly packaging (21%) and no additives and preservatives (20%).<br />

• The most innovative launch found was a microwaveable hamburger in South Korea.<br />
