Warnings:
g Mechanical damage
Protect ropes, strap slings, etc. from sharp edges
(particularly under load), use safeguards to protect
against abrasion and cutting
g chemical damage
Ensure that the equipment does not come into
contact with acids under any circumstances; often
damage is invisible, if you suspect that rope,
harness, strap slings, etc. have been in contact with
acid, immediately take rope, harness, strap slings
etc. out of service
g Melting damage
Use connecting elements and carabiners, two ropes
rubbing together can cause melting damage
g Knots
Knots in ropes as well as end connection

g Fouling
Keep the rope clean, fouling can conceal damage;
sand and dust can have an abrasive effect on the
fibers
g Wet rope
Wet rope is more sensitive, knot break force is
reduced, in addition ropes will elongate if fully
saturated

Never use static ropes for sport climbing
Note:
The contractor must have fall protection equipment
inspected by an expert as needed in accordance with
implementation conditions and operating conditions,
or at least once a year, to certify problem-free
condition. For the use of fall-arrest work harness
systems the respective employer's liability insurance
guidelines must be complied with; in addition
operating instructions must be provided. See also
