the loss <strong>of</strong> some letters at the ends <strong>of</strong> lines on page 54 and at the beginning <strong>of</strong> lines<br />

on page 53 (the back cover). This sermon, reflecting Bend’s Federalist views, is a<br />

panegyric on Washington’s life and career.<br />
