Commentary: The words “Sermon on Ps. 116. 15th” are crossed on page one and<br />

replaced by “No. 5.” Also crossed out on page one is “Preached over Mrs. Nancy<br />

Austin dec[ease]d.” Other excisions and revisions throughout the sermon indicate<br />

that Blair later adapted it for use on other occasions. Part <strong>of</strong> a word is missing from<br />

the broken <strong>of</strong>f upper left hand corner <strong>of</strong> the manuscript on page two.<br />
