Commentary: The subject <strong>of</strong> the sermon is the nature <strong>of</strong> God. Notes on the sermon<br />

read “Trin Chh & Chap: Octob.r 27th 1765 St: Geo: June 12th 1768 St: P:[aul’s]<br />

July 23d 1769 Do Octobr 31st 1773.” Harris was a native <strong>of</strong> Chestertown. See also<br />

Rightmyer, p. 287.<br />

Commentary: This charge is bound, with notes to two sermons, in a booklet in the<br />

Oliver Hart Diaries 1752-1789, Box 3, folder 3. (See accession numbers 991, 991a,<br />

and 991b). This charge forms pages 7-22 <strong>of</strong> the booklet also containing the two<br />

sermons given on September 18, 1768. It has been resewn in the wrong order. Pages<br />

21 and 22 are the first two pages <strong>of</strong> the charge. A few words are lost on pages 19<br />

and approximately one quarter <strong>of</strong> page 20. The latter is likely the final page <strong>of</strong> the<br />

charge, but there is a possibility that a final page(s) is missing due to the damage to<br />

the bottom <strong>of</strong> page 20. The date 1768? is given to the charge because <strong>of</strong> the material<br />

with which it is sewn.<br />
