Commentary: Notes at the head read “Bour: T: 1. Mys: P: 1e. St Joseph 1760<br />

Sakia 1762. Chester 1765 Wye—1766.” The sermon is based on the “Sermon sur<br />

la Nativite de Jesus-Christ” by the French Jesuit Rev. Louis Bourdaloue. Cf., for<br />

instance, Bourdaloue’s Sermons ... sur les mysteres. Tome premier. Paris: Chez<br />

Rigaud, 1726, pp. 1-44. There are some later emendations in pencil in an unknown<br />

hand.<br />

Commentary: The sermon is dated 1752 at the end. A note at the head reads<br />

“[illegible] Cobs. 1758.” Mosley, a Jesuit until the suppression in 1773, served in<br />

Maryland from 1756 until his death.<br />

“Decem: 4th 1760. Newtown.” Mosley, a Jesuit until the suppression in 1773, served<br />

in Maryland from 1756 until his death.<br />
