Zabdi, the son <strong>of</strong> Zerah took <strong>of</strong> the accursed thing: and the anger <strong>of</strong> the Lord was<br />

kindled against the children <strong>of</strong> Israel.<br />

Commentary: The sermon is in a folder labeled 1786-1789. A Duke card catalog<br />

note states that the sermon “must have been written very shortly after the end <strong>of</strong><br />

the terrible strife between the Whigs and Tories during the Revolution.” If true, this<br />

comment casts some doubt on the accuracy <strong>of</strong> the dates noted on the folder. Pages<br />

2, 32, and 44 are blank.<br />
