Commentary: This sermon is presently located in folder 26-27 and grouped with<br />

accession number 4016. Their relationship is undetermined. The first leaf (pages<br />

1 and 2) has been separated from the original sermon manuscript and is missing<br />

two portions at the spine <strong>of</strong> approximately 1” x 3” and 1” x 1 1/2”. The top corner<br />

<strong>of</strong> the edge <strong>of</strong> the last leaf (pages 31 and 32) is missing a section <strong>of</strong> approximately<br />

1” x 1”. An unknown number <strong>of</strong> pages are missing from the end <strong>of</strong> the manuscript,<br />

but Clay appears to be approaching the conclusion <strong>of</strong> his application <strong>of</strong> the sermon.<br />

Clay uses abbreviations throughout the sermon.<br />

Commentary: This sermon is presently located in folder 18-19 and grouped with<br />

accession number 4008. Their relationship is undetermined. The bottom right<br />

corner, approximately 1 1/2” x 1 1/2” <strong>of</strong> the manuscript, has been torn <strong>of</strong>f. The<br />

result is each page <strong>of</strong> the manuscript is missing a piece <strong>of</strong> this size in alternating<br />

corners. There are five small manuscript fragments in the file, four <strong>of</strong> them<br />

triangular and one square, ranging from 1/2” to approximately 2”. The sermon is<br />

a funeral sermon for a man, though the manuscript does not name the deceased.<br />

Clay uses abbreviations throughout the manuscript and focuses a good bit <strong>of</strong><br />

attention upon the Book <strong>of</strong> Job.<br />
