The sermon is on micr<strong>of</strong>ilm. The manuscript is located in Box 1, Folder 28 <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Sermon Collection 1640-1875 <strong>of</strong> the American Antiquarian Society. See also Weis,<br />

Commentary: Notes at the end read “Lancast. 1782 Donegal 1783.” And, in<br />

an unidentified hand, “nov. 1787 conewago maccalester york.” There is a one<br />

sentence insertion in German. Farmer, a native <strong>of</strong> Germany, was a Jesuit until the<br />

suppression in 1773. He served in Pennsylvania from 1752 until his death. His<br />

sermon is included to help fill out the Georgetown collection. While many <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Jesuits traveled to preach in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, it is not known<br />

if Farmer did so.<br />
