Commentary: Notes at the head read “Newp. 1772 Sac. 1773 Portob: 1784 St.<br />

Joseph’s 1789 Do 1797.” Bolton, a Jesuit until the suppression in 1773, served<br />

in Maryland from 1771 until his death. He did not rejoin the Society upon its<br />

restoration. The sermon is imperfect; it is incomplete at the end.<br />
