Community Psychology: Common Values, Diverse Practicesunconditionally positive conception of the construct of place attachment (Lewicka, 2005; Tartaglia & Rollero, inpress). The present results suggest also exercising some caution when choosing which spatial range take intoconsideration: if being linked to a bigger area enhances a global perception of social well-being, the affectivebond toward a smaller territory has both a positive and a negative influence.Despite all these considerations, the clear influence of place attachment on social well-being confirms that aplace is not only a physical area. On the one hand, people ground representations of the place in their socialexperiences and thus attribute to the same place different values (Félonneau, 2004), on the other psychologicalphenomena, such as the perception of the quality of one’s social life, can not be conceived but contextualisedand embedded in specific environments.ReferencesBonaiuto, M., Fornara, F., Aiello, A., & Bonnes, M.
