Sign. antik Kirman paladstæppe, prydet med poetiske "Hafiz"
vers all over på lys bund. Sign. "Orderd by Shoar". Persien.
Ca. 1850. Defekter. 805 x 530.
The inscription says "Orderd by Shoar" who was one of the most
important manufacturer of the very high quality "lavar kirman"
carpets in the period of mid 19th century. He also produced in order
of the Persian Royal House. Examples of this workshop are presented
in the collection of the Tehran Carpet Museum and the Persia
Royal Collection of the Saadabad Palace.
The inscriptions around the cartouches in the main field of the carpet
are citations from the Persian Poem Hafiz. Some of those in the
border such as "Mobarak Bad" indicate that the carpet was a present
probably for a Royal wedding ceremony. DKK 200.000
