7 Fazit <strong>und</strong> Ausblick 124 Im Angesicht von diversen Spielfilmen bei denen Avatare vorkommen (z.B. <strong>als</strong> Einkaufsassistent in Minority Report) o<strong>der</strong> Computer an<strong>der</strong>e menschliche Fähigkeiten haben (z.B. Emotionen zu haben, wie in Stanley Kubricks 2001: A Space Odyssey), scheint das Themengebiet um Avatare <strong>und</strong> auf sonstige Art humanoide Computer eine gewisse Faszination auszuüben. Dass allerdings <strong>der</strong> Einsatz emotionsfähiger, intelligenter Computer für Stanley Kubrick bereits für das Jahr 2001 vorstellbar war, zeigt bereits, dass Vorhersagen über die Entwicklung von Computertechnologie ein schwieriges Unterfangen sind. Ob <strong>und</strong> wann Avatare sich <strong>als</strong> Mensch-Maschine-Interfaces tatsächlich durchsetzen werden können, ist daher noch immer ungewiss.
