programme.
The New Films from Bavaria section will introduce films by directors
living in Bavaria and works by students of the Munich Academy
for Television and Film. All the films in this section are nominated
for the FFF Documentary Talent Award, sponsored by the
Bavarian film and television fund, FilmFernsehFonds Bayern and
worth 5,000 EUR. Furthermore the company Avid Technology GmbH
will donate a high-quality professional editing system to a young
directing talent from Bavaria.
We are pleased that the Munich Academy for Television and Film
is organising a masterclass with Bettina Blümner and the editor
Inge Schneider in which they will talk about their film Prinzessinenbad
(Pool of Princesses).
DOK.FEST and the organisers will be cooperating in the 19th Television
Workshop Development Politics with the theme Camera:
Glances to the Outside, which focuses on the documentary perspective
from and onto Africa and offers a mixture of reports of
people’s experiences, film examples and ethnological and film
studies approaches.
MEDIA Antenne Munich, in cooperation with DOK.FEST invites
documentary film producers, commissioning editors and world
sales companies to a panel discussion on the topic: In which
directions is the market for documentary film developing? In attendance
will be Professor Jochen Kölsch (ARTE coordinator at Bayerischer
Rundfunk), Hubert von Spreti (Head of the Film und Teleclub
department, Bayerischer Rundfunk), Lars Wagner (Discovery
Germany), and from the sales side Christine von Preyss (Parthenon
Entertainment) and Silke Wilfinger (Telepool). Marieke Schroeder
(director and producer, Pars Media) will be chairing the event.
Avid Technology is offering a free workshop with an introduction
to the five component editing system Avid Xpress Studio.
The Documentary Film Consortium AG DOK again this year invites
all festival guests to its traditional Sunday Brunch. It is also
arranging, together with Bundesverband Filmschnitt-Editor e. V.,
the ‘Paradoks Ball’, the fourth international May Dance and offers
all our professional guests a DOK.Night of charming Munich hospitality.
