Zarncke library has materially enlarged the resources of the seminary<br />

and leaves little to be desired.<br />

Bracketed courses are not given in 1899- 1900.<br />

Course 1, which cannot be taken to make up an entrance deficiency,<br />

is for beginners in German.<br />

Course 2, which cannot be taken to make up an entrance deficiency,<br />

is otherwise open to those who have had the equivalent of course 1.<br />

Courses 3-18 are open, under the restrictions hereafter noted, to<br />

those only who have had at least the equivalent of courses 1 and 2.<br />

Course 1, and, under certain restrictions, courses 2,3, 4, 5, and 6,<br />

are open to Freshmen.<br />

3a. Elementary German composition and conversation.<br />

Translation into German of selected passages adapted from German<br />

equivalent.<br />

3b. Intermediate course in German composition and conver<br />

sation. Translation of easy English extracts into German ; during<br />

the early part of the course considerable attention will be given to<br />

cation, to those who have had course 3a, or an equivalent.<br />

3c Advanced German composition. Those intending to teach<br />

and of religion, of various soldier and student<br />
