(1) Admission to Advanced Standing in the First Year.<br />

Graduates of <strong>Cornell</strong>, Yale, Harvard, Princeton, <strong>University</strong> of Penn<br />

sylvania, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, <strong>University</strong> of Michigan and other<br />

accredited universities, who have taken either a preparatory medical<br />

course or special work in organic and inorganic chemistry, physics, or<br />

physiology, will be allowed credit for the work which they have done<br />

and may be excused from the recitations upon these subjects, and<br />

from the exercises of the chemical laboratory in the first year, pro<br />

vided they pass examinations before the professors of these depart<br />

ments, and provided they give to dissection and advanced laboratory<br />

work, in various departments, a full equivalent in hours to the sub<br />

jects they may have passed by examination. These examinations are<br />

held at the opening of the session.<br />

Students who have had training in microscopical technique or in<br />

histology will be given advanced work in the histological laboratory,<br />

Students who have alreadj^ attended courses in other medical col<br />

leges may be admitted to advanced standing in the four-years' course<br />

of the <strong>Cornell</strong> <strong>University</strong> Medical College under the following condi<br />

tions :<br />

(2) Admission to the Second Year.<br />

Students from other accredited medical colleges desiring<br />

to enter<br />

the second year of the course must present certificates of attendance<br />

in laboratory courses of histology, chemistry, and materia medica cor<br />

responding in extent with those described on pages 220 to 222, or they<br />

must pass examinations in these branches. They must also show cer<br />

tificates of one year's work in dissection. There will be no other en<br />

trance examinations.<br />

(3) Admission to the Third Year.<br />

Students coming from other accredited medical colleges desiring to<br />

enter the third year must pass final examinations in the subjects of
