beginning of any term not later than the first term of the senior year,<br />

provided he appears, on examination, to be well versed in the follow<br />

ing<br />

subjects :<br />

a. In the studies required for admission to the freshman class of<br />

the course which he proposes to enter. But diplomas and certificates<br />

will be received for certain of these studies, as stated on pages 50, 51.<br />

b. In all the studies already required of the class to which admis<br />

sion is sought, or in accepted equivalents therefor.<br />

In a subject in which examinations are held only at stated times<br />

the candidates may, at the option of the department concerned, be re<br />

quired to wait until the first regularly recurring examination.<br />

2. Without Full Examination. Applicants for a baccalaureate<br />

degree coming from other colleges and universities, may be admitted<br />

provisionally to such standing and upon such terms as the Faculty<br />

concerned may deem equitable in each case, regard being had to the<br />

applicant's previous course of study, and to the evidence of proficiency<br />

exhibited. such candidate Every for a baccalaureate degree is re<br />

quired, at the time of making his application, to forward to the Sec<br />

retary of the Faculty concerned, (application for admission to the<br />

Academic Department should be forwarded to the Registrar of the<br />

with a catalogue of <strong>University</strong> ) along<br />

the institution in which he has<br />

studied, a careful statement, duly certified, of the studies which he<br />

has pursued, and the degree of proficiency attained therein, includ<br />

ing<br />

his record at the entrance examinations and a letter of honorable<br />

dismissal. This statement should be made as full as possible, giving<br />

details of subjects taken, authors read, and in mathematics, the text<br />

books used. To avoid delay in arranging the course, these credentials<br />

should be presented at an early date in order that the status of the<br />

applicant may be determined as far as is feasible before his arrival.<br />

Applications for credit in all subjects for which credit is desired, must<br />

be made at the time of the admission of the applicant, and not be<br />

postponed to any later date in his course.<br />

A student who has thus been admitted provisionally to a class, is<br />

considered to be in full and regular standing in that class, if, having<br />

taken the regular studies of the course he give proof, by passng term<br />

examinations, that he is able to go on with satisfactorily<br />

the class to<br />

which he has been assigned. temporarily<br />

Should he be unable to pass<br />

these examinations, special examinations may then be held or the<br />

terms of his admission revised,<br />
