course, required of candidates for the degree of doctor in medicine.<br />

Further information regarding such courses, fees, etc., may be ob<br />

tained by addressing the Secretary of the <strong>Cornell</strong> <strong>University</strong> Medical<br />

College, 414 East Twenty-sixth Street, New York City.<br />

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADVANCEMENT IN COURSE.<br />

Students are advanced in course from one year to the next upon<br />

passing<br />

examinations in the work of that year. As in the academic<br />

department of the <strong>University</strong>, the work of each year is considered<br />

final of itself. There is no unnecessary repetition of subjects taught<br />

from year to year. Students who have not succeeded in passing all<br />

their examinations will be allowed to enter upon the next year's<br />

studies, according<br />

to the conditions specified for each year of the<br />

course as given in the special announcement of the Medical College.<br />

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE OF M.D.<br />

1. Candidates for the degree of doctor of medicine must have<br />

studied medicine for four full years in an accredited medical college,<br />

and the fourth year at least must have been spent in the <strong>Cornell</strong> Uni<br />

versity Medical College.<br />

2. Candidates must present satisfactory evidence of good moral<br />

character and of being not less than twenty-one years of age.<br />

3. Candidates must file with the Secretary of the Faculty the Re<br />

gents Medical Student's certificate as evidence of having complied<br />

with the requirements for admission (see page 199).<br />

4. Candidates must have taken two courses of practical anatomy<br />

(see page 205). They must further have taken the regular course of<br />

two weeks at the Mothers'<br />

and Babies'<br />

Hospital or its equivalent in<br />

practical obstetrical work.<br />

5. In addition to the yearly examinations above specified for ad<br />

vancement in course candidates must pass, at the end of the fourth<br />

year, examinations in medicine, therapeutics, surgery, obstetrics, and<br />

g3m8ecology, such minor including branches as are specified in the<br />

curriculum (pp. 219-224).<br />

6 Candidates rejected at the final examination will not be reexam<br />

ined until after having completed their fourth year of study.<br />

7. The degree will not be conferred upon any candidate who ab<br />

sents himself from the Public Commencement without the special<br />

permission of the Faculty.<br />

8. The Faculty reserves the right to terminate the connection of<br />

any student with the institution at any time on the ground of what
