FOUNDATION.<br />

The New York State Veterinary College was established by an act<br />

of the Legislature of March 21, 1894, supplemented by acts of May<br />

10, 1895, and March 4, 1896. By these acts a sum of $150,000 was<br />

appropriated for buildings and equipment and provision made for<br />

maintenance. While a State institution, it is administered by the<br />

Trustees of <strong>Cornell</strong> <strong>University</strong>, and its students profit by courses of<br />

study in the <strong>University</strong> classes and laboratories, and by the Univer<br />

sity library.<br />

OBJECTS OF THE INSTITUTION.<br />

The New York State Veterinary College was founded to raise the<br />

standard of veterinary instruction and investigation to the level of<br />

the most recent advances in biology and medicine. The number of<br />
