This course is intended for students of Greek Literature as well as<br />

of Greek Philosophy. Books i-iv and x of the Nicomachean Ethics<br />

and the most important parts of the Republic will be read carefully<br />

through, attention being paid both to subject-matter and manner of<br />

statement. The text of Adam (The Macmillan Company, New York)<br />

is recommended for Plato, and the text of Susemihl (Teubner, Leip<br />

zig ) for the Nicomachean Ethics.<br />

Reading Courses :<br />

11. Reading of Psychology, in French, German, or Italian.<br />

T., 9, Laboratory Lecture Room. Professor Titchener or Dr.<br />

Bentley.<br />

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the.terminology<br />

and literature of foreign psychology.<br />

12. Rapid Reading of German Philosophy. S., 12,<br />

Dr. Irons.<br />

White 5a.<br />

The primary aim of this course is to aid the student in acquiring<br />

facility in translation, and a knowledge of German philosophical ter<br />

minology. Schopenhauer's Essay Ueber die vierfache Wurzel des<br />

Satzes vom zureichenden Grunde will be translated.<br />

13. Systematic Psychology. Lectures, essays, and experi<br />

mental illustrations. M., W., F., 9, Laboratory Lecture Room. Pro<br />

fessor Titchener and Dr. Bentley.<br />

The object of the course is twofold : to give the student a complete,<br />

if tentative, system of psychology, based upon the results of the ex<br />

perimental investigation of consciousness ; and at the same time, by<br />

copious references to rival theories, to orientate him in experimental<br />

psychological literature.<br />

14. Psychological Theory. Th., 9, Laboratory<br />

Dr. Bentley.<br />

Lecture Room.<br />

The object of this course, which will be offered in the Winter and<br />

Spring terms, is to present, with critical commentary, the views held<br />

by modern psychologists upon fundamental psychological questions.<br />
