Experiments, which are necessary for some criminal pro-<br />

ceedings, may be performed under a written order of a judge<br />

of the High Court. 2<br />

Moreover any person, who subjects an animal, or being the<br />

owner of it permits it to be subjected, to an operation which<br />

is conducted contrary to the regulations in force, commits an<br />

offence against the Animals (Anaesthetics) Act, 1919. 3<br />
