Experiments, which are necessary for some criminal pro-
ceedings, may be performed under a written order of a judge
of the High Court. 2
Moreover any person, who subjects an animal, or being the
owner of it permits it to be subjected, to an operation which
is conducted contrary to the regulations in force, commits an
offence against the Animals (Anaesthetics) Act, 1919. 3
