community or nation (identity what approach to take –<br />

adaptation or mitigation). What would a project to address<br />

this problem look like? Discuss this for 15 minutes.<br />

3. Now ask the participants to review the discussion: What are the<br />

instruments, mechanisms <strong>and</strong> modalities of climate change<br />

financing? (Section 7.3).<br />

4. Divide the group into groups of males only <strong>and</strong> females only.<br />

Let them draft a mini proposal for funding to implement the<br />

project they discussed in (2) above.<br />

5. Have them discuss to which funding mechanisms they would<br />

submit the project, <strong>and</strong> what they think the likely response to<br />

the proposal might be.<br />
