Latin America GENERA<br />

A knowledge platform promoted by UNDP to foster gender equity in the Latin<br />

American region. It collects publications, tools, experiences from different<br />

stakeholders in the region (governmental, non-governmental, UN system<br />

agencies <strong>and</strong> donors). It has developed a virtual classroom, special forums<br />

<strong>and</strong> other education/communication spaces.<br />

It has a joint initiative with the UNDP Bureau for Crisis Prevention <strong>and</strong> Recovery<br />

which seeks to integrate the gender approach into risk management. To do so,<br />

it has suggested a first initiative that would lead to articulating knowledge <strong>and</strong><br />

awareness between both areas by forming a virtual community, developing<br />

conceptual frameworks, methodological tools <strong>and</strong> developing internal <strong>and</strong><br />

counterpart capacities (a virtual course).
