Moldova<br />

<strong>Orange</strong> Moldova is the undisputed market leader, with market<br />

share of 65.6% in <strong>2009</strong>. The activities of access provider<br />

Telemedia have now been integrated, following its acquisition<br />

by <strong>Orange</strong> Moldova at the end of 2008, thereby adding a wide<br />

range of fi xed-line services aimed at business customers to its<br />

offer portfolio (including FTTx and xDSL offers).<br />

<strong>Orange</strong> Moldova’s mobile broadband offer, launched at the<br />

end of <strong>2009</strong>, has attracted nearly 49,000 subscribers, its main<br />

selling points are a wide 3G coverage across the entire country,<br />

excellent network quality, and speeds of 14.4 Mbps, which have<br />

now been increased to 21 Mbps.<br />

Distribution<br />

During <strong>2009</strong>, <strong>Orange</strong> Moldova reinforced its distribution<br />

network, which <strong>com</strong>prises different channels. <strong>Orange</strong> increased<br />

its presence with the opening of eight new own stores, bringing<br />

their number to 25 (including one franchise). Of the 144 outlets<br />

offering the full range of <strong>Orange</strong> Moldova products and services,<br />

98 have partner status under the <strong>Orange</strong> brand, and 46 have<br />

signed exclusivity contracts.<br />

<strong>Orange</strong> owes it leadership position in the prepaid segment in<br />

large part to the strong marketing presence embodied by its<br />

1,269 exclusive points of sale and 1,181 other outlets such as<br />

kiosks.<br />

<strong>Orange</strong> also launched an on-line store in <strong>2009</strong>, in addition to its<br />

existing distribution network.<br />

<strong>Orange</strong> Moldova launched world’s first high-definition voice service for mobile phones.<br />

The <strong>Orange</strong> Moldova Foundation was offi cially inaugurated during a ceremony for the donation of a tomograph<br />

to the Chisinau neurological hospital.<br />

Outlook<br />

In 2010 <strong>Orange</strong> Moldova plans to continue its transformation<br />

into a diversifi ed and integrated operator . To achieve this goal,<br />

<strong>Orange</strong> Moldova plans to focus on:<br />

■ the improvement in the quality of <strong>com</strong>munications, the<br />

distribution network and customer relations;<br />

■ the stimulation of usage and ARPU, while preserving its<br />

market share;<br />

■ the integration of new activities while maintaining the effi ciency<br />

of its organization.<br />

■ the diversifi cation of its portfolio of products and services;<br />
