Folium Salviae<br />

Definition<br />

Folium Salviae consists of the <strong>who</strong>le or cut dried leaves of Salvia officinalis<br />

L. (Lamiaceae) (1, 2) collected during the summer from cultivated<br />

plants (2).<br />

Salvia chromatica et papillosa Hoffmg., S. cretica L., S. grandiflora Ten.,<br />

Description<br />

A perennial subshrub, 25–50(–70) cm high, woody root. Stems wiry,<br />

woody at the base, erect, branched, quadrangular, hollow and softly<br />

curly-pubescent. Leaves, opposite, simple, petiolate, from oblong-ovate<br />
