8.1.1.6.23 System Information Block type 23<br />

The UE that suppor<strong>ts</strong> RAN-assisted WLAN interworking should store all relevant IEs included in this system<br />

information block. The UE that suppor<strong>ts</strong> RAN-assisted WLAN interworking shall:<br />

1> if the IE "WLAN Offload Information Per PLMN List" is included:<br />

2> select the instance in the IE "WLAN Offload Information Per PLMN List" corresponding to the PLMN<br />

chosen by the UE.<br />

1> else:<br />

2> select the instance in the IE "WLAN Offload Information common for all PLMN".<br />

1> store the received information elemen<strong>ts</strong> of the selected instance in the variable<br />

SYSTEM_INFO_WLAN_OFFLOAD_INFO, clearing and replacing any previously stored information;<br />

1> if the UE is in Idle mode, CELL_PCH, URA_PCH, or CELL_FACH state; and<br />

1> if the variable WLAN_OFFLOAD_INFO is empty:<br />

2> use the information stored in the variable SYSTEM_INFO_WLAN_OFFLOAD_INFO as specified in [4],<br />

and forward it to the upper layers.<br />

8.1.1.6.24 System Information Block type 24<br />

The UE should read and store all relevant IEs included in this system information block in the variable<br />

CONNECTED_MODE_ACCESS_CONTROL.<br />

The UE shall:<br />

1> if in CELL_FACH state; or<br />

1> if in CELL_PCH state and variable READY_FOR_COMMON_EDCH or HSPA_RNTI_STORED_CELL_PCH<br />

is set to TRUE:<br />

2> if the n-th Bit in the IE "DTCH transmission blocked" in the variable<br />

CONNECTED_MODE_ACCESS_CONTROL is changed from 0 to 1, where n is the value stored in the IE<br />

"Access Group identity" in the variable CONNECTED_MODE_ACCESS_CONTROL:<br />

3> configure RLC entities mapped onto the logical channel DTCH to not submit any data PDUs to lower<br />

layers.<br />

2> else:<br />

3> if the n-th Bit in the IE "DTCH transmission blocked" in the variable<br />

CONNECTED_MODE_ACCESS_CONTROL is changed from 1 to 0, where n is the value stored in the<br />

IE "Access Group identity" in the variable CONNECTED_MODE_ACCESS_CONTROL:<br />

4> configure RLC entities mapped onto the logical channel DTCH to allow submitting data PDUs to<br />

lower layers.<br />

8.1.1.7 Modification of system information<br />

For System Information Block type 15.2, 15.3 and 16 that may have multiple occurrences, the UE shall handle each<br />

occurrence independently as specified in the previous; that is each occurrence is handled as a separate system<br />

information block.<br />

NOTE:<br />

It should be noted that for the proper operation of the BCCH Modification Information sent on a PCH or<br />

on an HS-DSCH (FDD and 1.28 Mcps TDD only), the System Information should not be changed more<br />

frequently than can be accommodated by mobile stations operating at the maximum DRX cycle length<br />

supported by the UTRAN.<br />
