The Death Penalty in America is a course designed to<br />

introduce students to the legal, psychological and practical<br />

aspects of the death penalty. Emphasis will be placed on<br />

the landmark Supreme Court cases and the role that mental<br />

health experts play in death penalty litigation. There will be<br />

ample opportunity for discussion and debate. Cross-listed<br />

This course will objectively present diverse views and perspectives<br />

of juvenile delinquency and its interdisciplinary<br />

nature. This course offers an introduction to the field of<br />

juvenile delinquency and explores the concepts, theories,<br />

Designed to examine the cognitive representation of information,<br />

problem-solving strategies, attention, perception,<br />

This course examines the relationship between psychology<br />

and law. The structure of the course will be lectures, discussion,<br />

case presentations, debate and direct observation.<br />

Both academic and practical experiences will cover juries,<br />

civil commitment, violence prediction, competency, the<br />

insanity defense, eyewitness testimony and the death<br />
