CI 346 E-business Technologies (4 SH)<br />
Pre-Requisite(s): CI 200<br />
An overview of relevant technologies related to e-business<br />
and the internet. Topics include the internet infrastructure,<br />
e-business and web applications, site hosting, site security,<br />
e-business infrastructure and applications integration.<br />
Computer lab time will be devoted to the fundamentals<br />
of web application software in preparation for a group<br />
project. A web application project is a required component<br />
of the course.<br />
CI 348 Systems Analysis and Design (4 SH)<br />
Pre-Requisite(s): CI 200<br />
Covers the development of information systems. Topics<br />
include information systems development, the systems<br />
development life cycle, problem & requirements analysis,<br />
data and process modeling, systems design approaches,<br />
application architecture modeling, database design,<br />
prototyping and user interface design. An individual system<br />
development project is a part of the course.<br />

CJ 101 Introduction to Criminal Justice (4 SH)<br />

This survey course of American criminal justice encompasses<br />
legal issues, sociological theories, policy and law<br />
enforcement, court and correctional practices. Its emphasis<br />
is on the study of contemporary criminal justice in America.<br />

CJ 220 Criminal Law and Procedure (4 SH)<br />
Semester Offered: Spring<br />
A course of study to familiarize the student with the classification<br />
and types of criminal offenses and all aspects of<br />
criminal procedures. Cross-listed as LG 220.<br />
CJ 230 Investigative Techniques (4 SH)<br />
Semester Offered: Fall<br />
A study of the skills necessary to carry out investigative<br />
fact-finding (i.e. insurance work, preparation for trial, onsite<br />
investigations, etc.). Includes public records research.<br />

CJ 250/350/450 Internship in Criminal Justice (1-5 SH)<br />
Internships are academic courses that take place in<br />
professional work settings and call for the application of<br />
concepts learned in the classroom. Students gain on-thejob<br />
experience under supervision by working directly with<br />
a professional in the field of criminal justice. Students are<br />
required to complete 75 hours of work for each credit hour<br />
registered and earned. An Internship Application must be<br />
completed and filed with the Office of Career Services and<br />
Internships.<br />
CJ 311 Landmark Cases in Mental Health and the Law (4<br />
SH)<br />
Semester Offered: Spring odd years<br />
The purpose of Landmark Cases in Mental Health and the<br />
Law is to introduce students to the major Supreme Court<br />
cases that have decided issues in mental health and related<br />
fields. This course will be a seminar in which students will<br />
read relevant case law in areas such as: competency to<br />
stand trial, criminal responsibility, expert testimony, civil<br />
commitment, right to treatment, right to refuse treatment,<br />
capital punishment, workplace violence, etc. Additional<br />
readings will be assigned as new cases are published.<br />

A study of the scope of federal powers, separation of<br />
powers and the federal system, the Bill of Rights, due process<br />

CJ 327 Death Penalty in America (4 SH)<br />
Semester Offered: Spring odd years<br />
The Death Penalty in America is a course designed to<br />
introduce students to the legal, psychological and practical<br />
aspects of the death penalty. Emphasis will be placed on the<br />
landmark Supreme Court Cases and the role that mental<br />
health experts play in death penalty litigation. There will be<br />
ample opportunity for discussion and debate. Cross-listed<br />

CJ 330 Juvenile Delinquency (4 SH)<br />
Semester Offered: Spring<br />
This course on will objectively present diverse views and<br />
perspectives of juvenile delinquency and its interdisciplinary<br />
nature. This course offers an introduction to the field of<br />
juvenile delinquency and explores the concepts, theories,<br />
social, community and environmental influences and the<br />
justice system, as they relate to juvenile crime. Cross-listed<br />
