AT 225 Introduction to Graphic Communications I (4 SH)<br />

Pre-Requisite(s): AT 102<br />
This course is an introduction to the basics of drawing<br />
and design on the computer utilizing Adobe Photoshop.<br />
Emphasis will be placed on the conceptual and practical<br />
uses of the computer as a tool for studio technique.<br />
AT 226 Introduction to Graphic Communications II (4 SH)<br />
Semester Offered: Spring even years<br />
Pre-Requisite(s): AT 225<br />
Emphasis will be placed upon building artistic communicative<br />
and stylistic skills beyond the introductory level. Course<br />
will explore advanced techniques in color manipulation,<br />
organization elements, spatial relationships and form<br />
analysis.<br />
AT 230 Animation (4 SH)<br />
Semester Offered: Fall even years<br />
This course will serve as an introduction to the world of<br />
2D and 3D computer-generated graphics with a focus on<br />
drawing, modeling and animation. Form visualization<br />
principles practiced in the fields of design, drawing and<br />
sculpture will be covered including basic approaches to<br />
model surfacing, lighting and presentation. The course will<br />
then progress to the basic principles of timing and motion<br />
through the production of two and three dimensional<br />
computer-generated animation. The course will prepare<br />
you for work ranging from instructional animations to<br />

AT 231 Video Editing and Compositing (4 SH)<br />
Semester Offered: Spring odd years<br />
This course is an introduction to video editing and compositing<br />
using industry standard software. The entire workflow<br />
would be covered from planning a video shoot, filming the<br />
shoot and then editing the footage, including adding special<br />
effects. This course will prepare you for work in making<br />
commercials, web video, broadcast, entertainment films<br />
and/or art films. Cross listed as IM 231.<br />

A survey combining a study of Western, Ancient and<br />
Medieval art history with the art history of non-western<br />
civilizations.<br />
AT 241 Art History II (4 SH)<br />
Semester Offered: Spring even years<br />
A survey of modern western art history from the Italian<br />
Renaissance to the Twentieth Century.<br />
AT 250/350/450 Internship in Visual Art (1-4 SH)<br />
Students are required to complete 75 hours of work for<br />
each credit hour registered and earned. An Internship<br />
Application must be completed and filed with the Office<br />
of Career Services and Internships.<br />
AT 302 Painting II (4 SH)<br />

A course for those with Painting I experience. Emphasis<br />
will be on the development of one’s personal expression<br />
in paint and putting acquired painting skills to use.<br />

Continued development of skills learned in Ceramics I,<br />
with emphasis given to increased technical control of the<br />
materials and to work in areas of individual interest.<br />

Advanced darkroom techniques in black and white photography,<br />
plus introduction to new techniques for creative<br />

AT 330 Web and Interactive Art (4 SH)<br />
Semester Offered: Fall odd years<br />
This course will focus on web design and interactive art<br />
within the realm of the World Wide Web. The course<br />
will explore the Internet as a medium for art, as a space<br />
for advertisement and commercial applications and as a<br />
location to deliver information while utilizing the artistic<br />
possibilities of HTML, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Flash.<br />

AT 400 Multidisciplinary Art and Digital Performance (4<br />
SH)<br />
Semester Offered:<br />
Pre-Requisite(s): Junior or Senior Standing<br />
This course explores experimental and traditional work of<br />
integrating digital technologies into visual, dance, music<br />
and theater performances. This includes working with<br />
digital projections, real-time processing of data (i.e. music<br />
data connected and controlling visual display or devices<br />
controlling instruments/sounds), sensors, motion tracking<br />
via software and other emerging technologies. Reading<br />
about contemporary performances and art will be included,<br />
and we will work towards creating a performance/installation<br />
within this multidisciplinary course. Cross listed as<br />
