Equestrian Facility Management<br />

Degree Awarded: Bachelor of Science<br />

This program is designed for the individual interested<br />

in providing top quality management of an equestrian<br />

facility (boarding barn, competition stable, training farm,<br />

sales facility, horse show complex, etc.). Equestrian facility<br />

management is an ideal major for the student interested<br />

in overseeing quality care of horses, while working with<br />

people in a business situation.<br />

Requirements for the Major:<br />

59-64 semester credits including:<br />

• AC 101 Accounting Principles I (4 SH)<br />

• PE 110 First Aid and CPR Certification (2 SH)<br />

• EQ 109 Introduction to the Equine Industry (3 SH)<br />

• EQ 110 Horse Care Practicum (4 SH)<br />

• EQ 203 Management of Equestrian Facilities (3 SH)<br />

This program prepares dedicated, talented individuals<br />

to take positions of responsibility as riders, trainers and<br />

riding instructors. Students are also prepared to provide<br />

top-quality management of an equine facility. Practical<br />

application of knowledge and skills provides the student<br />

with the opportunity to gain the proficiency necessary to<br />

be successful in his or her chosen field.<br />
