ERO should also prepare (under Rule 21A of RER, 1960) a list of the names of deadpersons and the persons who may have ceased to be ordinarily residents of theconstituency and of persons who are otherwise not entitled to be registered in that roll.Inadvertent omission of names should also be similarly processed <strong>for</strong> inclusion underRule 21 of RER 1960. ERO should also scrutinize the printed rolls <strong>for</strong> detection ofprinting errors, clerical mistakes or other inaccuracies. Such items should be listed outand remedial action should be taken and included in the final list of amendments.91. ERO shall then exhibit on the notice board of his office a copy of the list togetherwith a notice as to the time and place at which the question of deletion of these namesfrom the roll would be considered. After considering any verbal or written objection thatmay be preferred, the <strong>Electoral</strong> <strong>Registration</strong> <strong>Officers</strong> shall decide whether all or any ofthe names should be deleted from the roll. But, be<strong>for</strong>e taking any decision in respect ofany person on the ground that he has ceased to be or is not ordinarily resident in theconstituency or is otherwise not entitled to be registered in that roll, the <strong>Electoral</strong><strong>Registration</strong> Officer shall make every endeavor to give him a reasonable opportunity toshow cause why the action proposed should not be taken in relation to him and conductspot verification be<strong>for</strong>e taking final decision to delete the entries.37
