Broad Status
a) PPA was signed on 17.04.2000. Restated
PPA initialed on 06.02.07.
b) NOC from MOE&F was obtained on
23.09.99 for 2x281 MW. Revised NOC from
MOE&F obtained on 09 th May’08 for 2x300
MW.
c) Capacity further revised by the firm from
300 MW to 270 MW.
d) Out of the total land 1014 acres required for
the project M/s GVK is in possession of 53
acres, balance land acquisition is under
progress as per the approval of PSERC and
Govt.of Punjab.
e) LOI issued on 18.5.98 by Govt. of Punjab
has expired, IDBI have indicated that they
will consider revalidation of LOI only after
significant progress has been made by Govt.
of Punjab/PSEB to establish Escrow capacity
of PSEB to support the project.
f) Orders for BTG package placed on M/s
BHEL and for BOP package on M/s Punj
Lloyd Ltd.
g) Financial closure is expected to achieve by
May’10.
h) Civil works of leveling & grading has
commenced.
i) Engineering work in progress for both BTG
package & BOP packages
j) Leveling of land and construction of
boundary wall commenced on 09.06.09
k) Foundation for start of construction activity
laid on 18.10.08.
l) Coal requirement will be met from captive
coal mine in Tokisud North sub block in
Jharkhand. In order to supplement coal
supply to Goindwal Sahib TPP GOI, Min. of
Coal has allotted SEREGARHA coal block
in Jharkhand vide lr.no. 38011/1/2007-CA-1
of 09.01.08. The SEREGARHA coal block
has to be jointly developed by GVK and M/s
ARCELLOR MITTAL.
m) GVK signed coal transport agreement with
Indian railways on 11.12.08.
Final MOU has been signed between M/s
GVK and PSEB on 8.2.2006 for execution of
the project. The validity of MOU has been
extended upto 02.08.09. The amended and
restated PPA signed on 26.05.09 by both
GVK & PSEB after the Appellate
Tribunal permitting on 19.05.09 for
signing the PPA. However, the appeal was
listed for hearing on 18.05.2010
