After your images are loaded, you need to indicate which image to use.
If you do not specify an image, the first flash partition will be used:
Router#config t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
Router(config)# boot System flash c2500-d-l.120-3.bin
Router(config)#^Z
Router#
When partitioning is used, it will appear in the configuration file,
listing the number of partitions and the size of each partition:
service timestamps debug uptime
!
hostname Router
!
boot System flash c2500-d-l.120-3.bin
!
partition flash 2 8 8
If flash chips of different sizes are used, each partition will reflect the
size of the chip.
On 1600, 36x0, and 7x00 routers, PCMCIA flash cards are used along
with moth erboard-mounted flash chips. PCMCIA flash cards can be
partitioned into more than one partition. Also, when working with
PCMCIA flash cards, the commands differ between the modular
routers (1600 and 3600) and 7x00 series routers.
On the modular routers, the command is used to see what is
on the flash card. The files on the PCMCIA card in slot0 are the
following:
Router3600#sh slot0:
