Jet Service and Other Big Things<br />
Scheduled passenger service enhancements<br />
Following pre-Christmas introductory flights, permanent B737<br />
service from Dorval to Puvirnituq airport commenced on January 7 th in<br />
accordance with the following schedule.<br />

B737 jet schedule for 2010 (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)<br />

Dash 8-100 service from Salluit to Inukjuak, via Ivujivik, Akulivik<br />
and Puvirnituq, has been introduced. A Twin Otter will remain based in<br />
Puvirnituq for emergency air transport and back up in the area.<br />
Dash 8-300 service from Dorval to Inukjuak, via Kuujjuaraapik and<br />
Umiujaq, has been introduced. This schedule includes stops in Radisson<br />
(Tuesday and Thursday) as well as Sanikiluaq (Monday, Wednesday and<br />
Friday). Continuous same plane<br />
service connecting Sanikiluaq<br />
to Nunavik, in both north and<br />
southerly directions is now permanently<br />
available three days<br />
a week.<br />
At the request of the community<br />
of Umiujaq, Sunday<br />
scheduled service to that community<br />
will be permanently<br />
added in the spring schedule.<br />
A Dash 8-100 was permanently<br />
based in Radisson<br />
in January. This aircraft now<br />
replaces the HS748 that was<br />
formerly being used for charters<br />
and backup usage in the<br />
network.<br />
In the third or fourth quarter<br />
of 2010, a Dash 8-100 will<br />
be based in Kuujjuaq, replacing<br />
the Twin Otter aircraft on<br />
the lower Ungava schedule<br />
(i.e. Kangiqsualujjuaq, Tasiujaq,<br />
Aupaluk and Kangirsuk.) This<br />
