Vegetables grown in Kuujjuaq
have proven to be just
as good quality as those
grown in the south.
initial reaction of Kuujjuamiut
to a greenhouse project seems
positive.
These two photos were
taken at Kuujjuaq’s existing
community greenhouse. If
ever this project were to be
approved by the residents
of Kuujjuaq, a greenhouse
project would be developed
in such a way that it would
bring social, economic and
environmental benefits to the
residents of Kuujjuaq.
The entire research team thanks the staff at Makivik Corporation,
especially those at the Nunavik Research Centre, for their help in implementing
this study. A special thanks also goes out to all the people of
Kuujjuaq who have given so generously of their time. For further information
or suggestions, contact: ellen.avard.1@ulaval.ca.
