Rangers Attire for William and Harry
During his Royal Visit to Canada, Prince Charles accepted two
Canadian Rangers caps and sweatshirts on behalf of his sons during
a ceremony in Rideau Hall, Ottawa. William and Harry were bestowed
with the recognition of honorary rangers
this past November 10 th , as the grandchildren
of Queen Elizabeth II, who is
the official Commander-in-Chief of the
Canadian Forces. The Canadian Rangers
are part of the Canadian Forces reserve,
providing surveillance and patrol services
in Canada's Arctic and other remote
areas, and are an essential component
to Canada's exercise of sovereignty
over its territory. The presentation was a
momentous event for Nunavimmiut and
an especially proud moment for Michael
Cameron of Salluit who was amongst the four Rangers from northern
Canada who made the presentation. The other three Rangers were from
the Yukon, the NWT, and Nunavut.
