Committee meetings
So far the Nunavik Regional Partnership Committee has
had four face-to-face meetings. Through these meetings the
committee members have had the chance to update each
other with respect to the organizations
they represent. They
have also gotten inside and outside
information with respect to
available resources that can and
will help the region and communities
to trigger as well as mobilize
positive social change.
Partnership highlights
Here are some of the presentation and discussion
highlights of the past year’s Nunavik Regional Partnership
Committee meetings:
• The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social
Services has taken the lead in the youth protection file.
They have secured an office building and staff housing
for Nunavik’s Department of Youth Protection and have
restructured the department’s employees.
• A Quebec Enforme presentation on active living and
good nutrition was given.
• The Kativik School Board gave a presentation on their
parenting education program
• Nunalituqait Ikajuqatigiittukut (NI) provided information
sessions on the effects of drugs and alcohol abuse.
They later gave a presentation on the preliminary findings
of these information sessions.
• The Nunavik Regional Partnership Committee drafted a
resolution on the follow-up of the youth protection file
and sent it to member organizations for validation and
approval.
