Circle and Makivik’s Nunavik Government
negotiation team’s training and policy development
component has provided a successful workshop
in Kuujjuaq and Inukjuak, acknowledging the history, challenges
and potential of Inuit individuals and communities as
it explores issues relating to abuse, neglect and interpersonal
violence. The four-day workshop explores the root causes of
abuse and neglect in Aboriginal communities from historical
and psychosocial perspectives, including an examination
of the inter-generational impact of residential schools. The
