Circle and <strong>Makivik</strong>’s Nunavik Government<br />

negotiation team’s training and policy development<br />

component has provided a successful workshop<br />

in Kuujjuaq and Inukjuak, acknowledging the history, challenges<br />

and potential of Inuit individuals and communities as<br />

it explores issues relating to abuse, neglect and interpersonal<br />

violence. The four-day workshop explores the root causes of<br />

abuse and neglect in Aboriginal communities from historical<br />

and psychosocial perspectives, including an examination<br />

of the inter-generational impact of residential schools. The<br />
