Assessment Criteria
12.34 The following criteria will be applied when assessing the magnitude of effects of the Project:
� high significant increases in traffic volumes (+30%) and percentage of HGVs, and or
dangerous increases in traffic speeds;
� moderate increases in traffic volumes and percentage of HGVs in excess of 10%;
� minor increases in traffic volume and percentage of HGVs of up to 10%, and
� negligible no real increase in traffic volume and percentage of HGV, and no real change in
traffic speeds.
12.35 The identification of receptors and the level of sensitivity to traffic flow changes are discussed in
the following section, but the significance of impacts will be judged according to the magnitude of
effects and the sensitivity of receptors, as shown in Table 12.6.
