13.61 The topography is generally very flat within the wider estuary area, with some localised and minor
variations created by the presence of flood defence features that run along the river’s edge
(Figure 13.5). Generally as the distance from the estuary increase so do ground levels. At a
greater distance in a southerly direction the land begins to rise considerably to form the
Lincolnshire Wolds.
