4.20 Pre-application consultation has been undertaken with NELC on the planning issues associated
with the development. This took the form of telephone consultation to inform the ES Scoping
Report; a meeting in May 2011; and subsequent e-mail and telephone communications.
4.21 The principal purpose of the consultation was to acquire relevant technical information, determine
the scope of supporting information required to validate the Planning Application and, in particular,
to seek agreement on those policy documents that are believed to have most relevance to
consideration of the Planning Application for the BOC Dissolved Acetylene Project. The
consultation was also used to identify whether there are any current planning consents that might
have a bearing on the impact assessment, either interactively or cumulatively. The information
presented above (and in Chapter 16) reflects the outcome of these consultations.

in the Statement of Community Involvement that supports the Planning Application.
