Bizler bundan 25 yıl önce, Endüstriyel Tasarım’ı ciddiye alan kişiler olarak ETMK’yı kurduk. Bugün, Cumhuriyet’imizin 100. Yılında
500 milyar dolarlık ihracat hedefine ortak olabilmekten, bu hedef için sorumluluk taşıyabilmekten büyük mutluluk duyuyoruz.
Design Turkey, Türkiye’yi muasır medeniyet seviyesine çıkartmakta Endüstriyel Tasarımcılar’ın üstlendiği sorumluluğun somut
bir göstergesi ve ne mutlu ki başarı abidesi olarak parıldamakta olan bir organizasyon. Düzenlendiği her sefer çıtasını bir üst
basamağa taşıdı ve artık rüştünü ispat ederek, Türkiye’nin en büyük, ICSID onayı ile birlikte dünyanın da sayılı endüstriyel tasarım
ödül programlarından biri haline geldi.
Design Turkey 2012’ye 410 başvuru geldi. Bu başvurulardan 90 tanesi İyi Tasarım, 14 tanesi Üstün Tasarım, 2 tanesi de Kavramsal
Tasarım ödülü almaya hak kazandı. Değerlendirme dünya çapında saygın yerli ve yabancı jüri üyeleri tarafından yapıldı. Birlikte
çalışmaktan mutluluk duyduğumuz Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Ekonomi Bakanlığı ve Türkiye İhracatçılar Meclisi’nin değerli bürokratları
ve çalışanları ile birlikte, Design Turkey 2012 organizasyonunda yaklaşık 80 kişilik bir ekip çalıştı. Emeği geçen herkese teşekkürü
borç bilirim.
Bu katalog, Türkiye’nin kaliteli ürün üretme yarışında var olduğunun göstergesidir. Bizler sadece yolu açtık. Ancak asıl onur, imalat
aşamalarının tüm zorluklarına rağmen yılmayarak dünya çapında tasarlanmış ürün üretme vizyonuna sahip olan katılımcıların ve
ödül sahiplerinindir. Kendilerini bir kez daha tebrik ediyorum.

ETMK was established 25 years ago by people who take a serious view of industrial design. Today, we are pleased to be able to play
an important role in achieving the $500 billion export target set for the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. As ETMK, we
carry this responsibility with great rigour and pride.
Design Turkey stands as a testament to the efforts of industrial designers to elevate Turkey to a level befitting today’s modern
world. It is an event which shines as a monument to their success. In each of the organised events, Design Turkey has aimed
to raise the standard, proving itself to be the most important industrial design award programme in Turkey. Moreover, with the
endorsement of ICSID, it has become one of the most prestigious programmes worldwide.
Of the 410 applicants in Design Turkey 2012, 90 received the Good Design Award, 14 won the Superior Design Award, and 2 were
awarded the Conceptual Design Award. The assessment was carried out by Turkish and foreign jury members, all of whom are
well-respected worldwide. An 80 strong team was engaged in the organisation of Design Turkey 2012, and we were pleased to have
had the participation of employees from the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Turkey, the Turkish Exporters Assembly and I
would like to take this opportunity to thank every one of them for their invaluable contribution.
This catalogue is an indication that Turkey has taken its rightful place in the race to produce high quality products. We have only
opened up the way. The real honour should go to the participants and award holders, who have the vision to produce products with
designs that are world-class despite all the challenges presented by the various stages of manufacturing. I congratulate them
once again.
