Pete Avondoglio, 1965 yılında Cornell Üniversitesi, Mimarlık
Bölümü’nden mezun oldu. Daha sonra Danimarka’ya
taşınarak, Kopenhag’da mimarlık ve tasarım uygulamalarına
başladı. 1972-1995 yılları arasında Royal Academy of
Architecture’da mimarlık ve endüstriyel tasarım dersleri
verdi. 1996-2000 yılları arasında doçent olarak Aarhus
School of Architecture’da Endüstriyel Tasarım programında
Bölüm Başkanı görevinde bulundu. 2001 yılında İsveç’te
Umeå Institute of Design’da İleri Ürün Tasarımı yüksek
lisans programının geliştirilmesinden ve yönetiminden
sorumlu olduğu Bölüm Başkanlığı görevini üstlendi. Halen
aynı programda kıdemli danışman ve emekli profesör olarak
görevini sürdürüyor. Çalışma hayatı süresince Danimarka
Tasarım Ödülü dahil olmak üzere, çeşitli mimarlık ve
tasarım yarışmalarında ödüller aldı. Ayrıca çeşitli devlet
tasarım komitelerine ve danışma kurullarına katılıyor.
Pete Avondoglio graduated from the Department of
Architecture of Cornell University in 1965. He later moved
to Denmark where he began to work in architecture and
design in Copenhagen. From 1972 to 1995, he lectured in
architectural and industrial design at the Royal Academy of
Architecture. Between 1996 and 2000, he was an associate
professor and the Head of the Industrial Design Programme
at Aarhus School of Architecture. In 2001, he worked in
Sweden as the head of department of the Umea Institute
of Design in charge of the development and management
of the Advanced Product Design master’s programme.
He continues to work in the same programme as a senior
consultant and retired professor. Throughout his career,
he has been awarded a number of prizes in a variety of
architecture and design competitions including the Design
Award of Denmark. In addition, he continues to participate
in several government design boards and consultancy
committees.
